MORE OF THE SAME: MINISTERIAL MADNESS!
Dr. Robert L. Sumner

In a case that surely takes the cake for total stupidity, Warren Preston Brown, a 41-year-old preacher on the ministerial staff at the Bible Baptist Church in Norman (OK), robbed the Oklahoma Educators Credit Union in nearby Oklahoma City, then made his escape in the church van! Incidentally, he signed an affidavit admitting to the robbery of five other banks in the area so this is not a case of mistaken identity. He faces a potential sentence of three years in the slammer – which doesn’t seem like much to us – for what he did.

Meanwhile, in the Kansas City area, Neil and Christy Edgar, co-pastors of a storefront church called “God’s Christian Outreach Ministry” (we are positive God would be ashamed to have His holy Name associated with it!), were bound over for trail in the death of their 9-year-old son, Brian. Facing trial with them is a 19-year-old church member/baby sitter, Chasity Boyd. There are five other church members facing possible charges of abusing the boy.

What happened? The “preachers” wrapped Brian in duck tape “like a mummy” with only his nose open, then, according to his older brother, a 16-year-old, they went back to the store to buy 6 more rolls of tape! Alas, the morons then took him to a small storage room and placed him on a sleeping bag, leaving him for the night. In the morning the lad was dead.

In a “too little, too late,” Pastor Edgar took the boy to the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

What was the terrible crime that merited such punishment? Stealing! It seems he had been sneaking water from the kitchen faucet and helping himself to food when he was hungry. Brian, along with his 3 siblings (2 boys and 1 girl) were all adopted. Prosecutors claim that all of the Edgar children were “systematically abused.”
